Systemic coaching in NurembergFrequently asked questions
What people ask most often in the intro call: fees, process, and the difference from therapy.
Fees & process
- What does the intro call cost?
- Nothing. The intro call is a 15 to 30 minute phone call. We clarify your topic and whether we're a good fit. You can choose a time online.
- How much does coaching in Nuremberg cost?
- With me, a session for individuals costs €70 to €170 per hour depending on income; we discuss where you fit in during the intro call. If a company pays, the hourly rate is between €138 and €230 depending on company size; non-profits and impact companies pay less. If the first session doesn't feel right, it isn't charged.
- How many sessions will I need?
- Usually four to six, sometimes two are enough. There are no packages and no minimum term. The first session lasts 90 minutes, the following ones 60.
- Will my employer or health insurance pay?
- Health insurers usually don't. Many employers cover coaching, especially for leadership topics. For HR there is a coach profile as a PDF and, on request, a written proposal. In Germany, work-related coaching can often be deducted from tax; a tax adviser can tell you more.
- Will my employer find out what we talk about?
- No. If your employer pays, we agree together at the start which information is shared, usually just the number of sessions.
About systemic coaching
- What is systemic coaching?
- Systemic coaching always looks at a person together with their environment: team, organisation, family, expectations. Instead of ready-made solutions, questions and new perspectives help you find your own solutions that also work in your environment. I work in a solution-focused way, following Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg.
- How is systemic coaching different from classic coaching?
- Classic coaching often focuses on the individual and their goals. Systemic coaching also includes the relationships and structures around them, because many problems arise there and are solved there too.
- What does DGSF mean, and is coaching a regulated profession?
- The title "coach" is not protected in Germany. The German Society for Systemic Therapy, Counselling and Family Therapy (DGSF) certifies coaches after several years of training with teaching coaching and supervision. I have been a certified systemic coach (DGSF) since 2025 and follow the association's ethical guidelines.
- When is coaching right, and when is therapy?
- Coaching is for people who are generally stable and want to move forward on a topic. For a mental illness such as depression, an anxiety disorder or acute burnout, psychotherapy is the right path. We clarify this together in the intro call.
Place & format
- Where does the coaching take place?
- In the coaching room at Leonhardstraße 20A in Nuremberg (step-free access, close to Plärrer, easy to reach from Fürth and Erlangen), on a walk & talk by Wöhrd Lake or along the Pegnitz, or online. For companies also on site.
- Is online coaching just as effective?
- In my experience, yes for most topics. Many coachees in company programmes work with me exclusively online.
- In which languages?
- Coaching, workshops and talks in English and German.
- How quickly can I get an appointment?
- For the intro call, usually within one to two weeks. I deliberately work with only a few people at a time.
